Issue # 175 Viva La Revolucion!

EnemaChronic.jpg

Welcome again to Chronic Insomnia, the world's most absurd comic book podcast!  This week:  Hyberbolic rage against children!  Mostly justified Jason Aaron rage against Alan Moore!  Perry Mason type mystery solving involving Comic Tube's Leroy and a rising comics superstar!

This episode contains the longest sustained comics conversation in the history of the show.  Ryan says the digital revolution is a myth, and Mike says "...(sniff)...I don't remember eating chili."  This is why we've been nominated for an Eisner nomination, people!

"Who Is Jake Ellis?" gets some Buzz Book love - if you can find another super-spy-with-an-imaginary-friend book for only $2.99, have at it!  Until then, you're going to want to stick with Jake.  Find out which books you should be looking for this Wednesday, and be sure to catch us this week on John Mayo's Previews Spotlight for our ordering picks of the month!

As always check out our good friends in Canada at Where Monsters Dwell.  We also have a blog, along with a half finished website.  We would also like to mention how much we love the all of you.

  1. Aww shucks, guys, thanks for the shout out. That’s the first time I have ever been considered anyone’s disciple. Honestly, I think I lack the discipline to be a true disciple or follower of anything. (I could just feel the love from you Michael, referring to me as that “guy on Amazon.ca”, lol)

I chimed in on the CI blog about the whole snail’s-pace ‘digital comics revolution’ thingy and I still believe that as soon as the digital option is made available at the same time as the pulp paper alternative at a much lower price point, it will gain a noticeable, sizable share of the comic-buying market.

BTW, now that you mentioned my soggy little blog, I feel somewhat more obligated to post to it more often. (in case the visitor traffic increases into the double digits, Alan Moore, forbid)

BTW #2, with regards to Human League, I agree with Michael: you should have gone with, ‘Don’t you want me, baby?’

    Signing off from Canada

    *END TRANSMISSION*

  2. I think that Alan Moore is just an old grumpy guy, and Jason Aaron is just wasting his time and looking like an idiot

  3. Hey, I gave Mike the opportunity to swap out “Keep Feeling Fascination”, and he denied himself….so y’all have yourselves to blame! And me for bringing up the Human League in the first place - doh!

Monice - was Jason Aaron’s attack childish? Probably. But when a guy gets away with bullying and badmouthing his peers for years and years because he’s a sacred cow, and somebody finally stands up to the bully and punches him in the snout? It may not be the adult thing to do…but I love it. Love it!
